How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
It’s a lot of fun to try and come up with words, rhymes, and stories that will appeal to children. Writing in the children’s poetry genre while devoting this entire book to acrostic poetry was an extremely creative challenge.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
If you have an idea… just start it! You never know where it is going to go, or what inspiration will follow. Start the journey and go for the ride.
Author Bio:
A native of Athens, Georgia, Kaelah Mickelle (kaelahmickelle.com) received her Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from the University of Georgia in 2009. As a recipient of a School of Music Fellowship, she received her Master of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in 2012, having studied with world-renowned saxophonists Kenneth Tse and Eugene Rousseau.
Kaelah has been writing poetry since she was 7 years old.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wanted to create mnemonic device poetry that would help children with spelling while also teaching young children their ABCs with fun poetry.
