Virgil the Hound by Tere Albanese

By Curator

Virgil the Hound by Tere Albanese

Virgil is a royally bred foxhound. However, he refuses to hunt foxes or anything else for that matter. The Master of Hounds treats him quite cruelly. Virgil takes it in stride and stays true to himself. On one particular hunt, Virgil did what he always does. The hounds went one way and Virgil went the opposite way. The Mater of Hounds sends one of the huntsmen after Virgil and tells him to tie his whip to Virgil’s collar and drag him back. But when the huntsman finds him, Virgil teaches the huntsman a valuable lesson about compassion for all living things. This is a children’s book for all ages.

“I first heard Bobby Brown’s wonderful poetry at an Open Mic poetry reading. One evening while I was listening to him share his writings, he said some words that touched my heart and I realized that God used Bob to change my life forever. Bob’s words took me on a spiritual journey that led me to learn about my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus! Since that time we have become good friends and his poetry continues to bless my life and I’m sure it will edify everyone else who reads it.” – Rosemary Maynes

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book is a follow up to my first poetry book, The Sky that Falls. This particular book intended to provide readers with a lot more poems than the Sky that Falls. I also wanted to explore more intimate and erotic themes and I had a chance to do that in the Valley that Calls. The Sky that Falls contains forty poems whereas this book contains one hundred and twenty poems. I wanted to produce a book with a lot more beautiful poetry and that is the reason I wrote the Valley that Calls.

Seated Above, Looking Below by Bobby Brown

By Curator

image1“Seated Above, Looking Below” contains about 200 poems that will take you on a journey, a journey that wanders through the seasons of life and ends on some deep spiritual truths. This is Bob’s first published book. Interestingly enough, the book title was inspired by scripture – Eph 2:6 which states “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” This is an incredible piece of scripture because it show’s Gods abundant grace towards us – but note the focus is on God; He raised us up and He seated us with Himself. Also, note the tense of the verse! Read it again!

Targeted Age Group:: 5-95

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
“On a summer’s Eve in 1976 I had a spiritual awakening. After weeping through the night I awoke the next morning and heard the birds really singing for the first time. I also felt inwardly enriched. The living waters of poetry began to flow like a river and these poems are the result.”
